May-Sep; peeler crab on pulley or running ledger. Fish 2 hrs up to HW in the main flow; 6-8 oz grip leads needed.
Less numerous than starry. Fresh crab on a pulley pennel; dusk on spring tides around high water. Keep baits nailed down in the main run.
Occasional alongside starry fish in summer; peeler crab on pulley rigs, flood tide into dusk. Target clearer neaps and sandier pockets.
May-Aug on peeling crab. Fish 2hrs either side of HW on neaps; cast to the rough-to-mud line from the seawall. Use strong snoods and 6oz grips.
Peeler crab on light running rigs at the mouth on big summer floods; dusk into dark. Release promptly.
Peeler crab on 3/0–4/0 running rigs, flood tides into dusk May–Aug; occasional fish this far up.
Occasional Jun-Aug on peeler crab. Fish big spring floods from crib ends into deeper flow lanes. Strong tackle and 5-6oz grippers.
Jun–Sep; fresh peeler on long traces, short casts to crab ground on neap floods. Less common than starry fish.
