Neap tides have a smaller range and generally gentler movement. It can produce well when there is coloured water and a bit of movement, but its shallow, tide-dependent nature rewards timing and sensible positioning.

The fishing is along the sandy beach and groyned frontage at Leysdown-on-Sea, with easy access from the resort and seafront. It is an exposed venue, so conditions can change quickly and the fishable water can be a long way out at low tide.

Leysdown is principally a mixed beach venue, with the likely targets changing considerably between the warmer and colder parts of the year. Expectations should be based on tide, water clarity and recent weather rather than the calendar alone.
