5.5· Estuary · Essex
Steeple Bay is a quiet, shallow Blackwater Estuary shore mark, generally fished from the seawall edge and firm beach margins rather than the extensive mudflats. Access is straightforward from local roadside/holiday-park-area approaches, but the tide dictates the session: fish close to high water or into the ebb for bass, flounder, rays and winter species, keeping well clear of soft mud.
