6.5· Beach · Suffolk
Southwold Beach is a broad, mostly sandy shore with shingle patches and timber groynes, fished from easy promenade and beach access points around the town and pier. It is a classic East Anglian open-beach venue: best worked around moving water and after a little colour, with summer bass, mackerel and flatfish giving way to whiting, dabs and the chance of cod in colder months.
