5.4· Estuary · Suffolk
Stutton Ness is a quiet, tidal River Stour estuary shore mark, reached by a walk from local lanes and public footpaths rather than a drive-to peg. Fishing is over silty mud, firmer shingle patches and tidal channels; it is chiefly a flood-and-ebb venue for flounder, eels and school bass, with better saltwater species possible nearer the deeper main channel. Check land access locally, avoid soft mud and do not wade the fast-moving estuary.
