Humberston Fitties is a broad, open Humber-estuary beach on the eastern side of Cleethorpes, valued for seasonal codling and whiting fishing as well as its dependable mixed flatfish sport. It is a practical shore mark rather than a comfort venue: the fishing can be good when a tidal channel is within range, but the vast sands and fast-moving tide demand planning.

• Expect a mobile estuary fishery, with catches changing markedly according to season, weather, water colour and the position of the channels.
• Autumn and winter are the traditional times to target codling and whiting, particularly after a period of rougher weather.
