6.1· Beach · Essex
Chalkwell Beach is a gently shelving sand-and-mud Thames Estuary shore beneath the promenade, with easy access from nearby parking and Chalkwell station. It fishes best around the flooding tide and into high water, producing typical estuary species rather than long-range surf fishing; expect shallow water, soft ground and occasional weed after rough weather.
