Seacroft Beach

6.4· Beach · Lincolnshire

Seacroft Beach is a broad, gently shelving sandy shore on the south side of Skegness, generally reached from the seafront, promenade and nearby public parking before a short walk across the beach. It is a classic open Lincolnshire surf mark, best worked around the flooding tide and after dark in cooler months, with clean-ground fishing for flatfish, whiting, bass and occasional codling.

Seacroft is a mobile, open sandy surf beach where feature-finding matters more than simply casting hard. Build a session around the latter flood and first ebb, ideally at dusk in the cooler months, and set up opposite the day’s best-defined darker gutter, runnel mouth or break in a sandbar. Moderate surf and a little colour can lift bass, whiting and occasional codling chances; calmer, clearer water is the better flatfish proposition.

  • Find the day’s fish-holding gutter instead of casting blind over sandbars.
  • Time the latter flood and first ebb for Seacroft’s most practical fishing window.
  • Match Seacroft’s changing surf to the right bait, rig and species target.
  • Know when coloured surf helps—and when clear, shallow water points to flatfish.
  • Have a nearby fallback if Seacroft’s mobile beach profile is not fishing.
