6.2· Beach · East Riding of Yorkshire
Hornsea South Beach is a broad, gently shelving sandy shore south of the town, reached from seafront access points and best fished by walking to the developing tide-line, gullies or any darker ground after rough weather. It is a straightforward open-beach mark with classic Yorkshire surf fishing for winter cod and whiting, plus flatfish through much of the year; long casts can help at low water, while the flooding tide often brings fish closer.
