6.6· Rocks · North Yorkshire
Cowbar is a rugged rock-and-gully mark north of Staithes, approached on foot from the Cowbar side via cliff-top paths and tide-dependent descents to the scars. It is primarily a rough-ground venue, with kelp, broken rock and deeper gullies producing cod and mixed rock fish; casting is often less important than presenting bait safely clear of snags.
